First trail run (on the channel). Welcome! For those who are new. I have been documenting my experiences on the bike on this channel for several years now. For the longest time I have been wanting to branch out and document more running and health topics on here. While I have been a road runner for a little while now, I have been dabbling into some trail running as my knee has been feeling bett...

Question - How hilly is your area and how do you handle hills (if there are any) with your non-electric? I live in a volcanic area the gradient is steep and often 😅
@@orangespy it’s hilly! If the gearing is right just slow and steady. I have to give myself plenty of extra time on the commute if I choose to take the cargo bike
Great video, thanks for sharing!
I am loving the new running content!
🧤Velocio Luxe gloves are a hidden gem. They’re a game changer for hand comfort 👍
We need more bullit content!
I also prefer MIP, it’s just amazing!
Thanks for comparing sizing to rove. I checked bikeinsights and the L is pretty close to my 54 rove and 56 midnight special.
As long as being in a hurry/ racing others and having a light bike is NOt on your list of things to do then you’re all set. These things are tanks, especially equipped with the cheap heavy wheels and components they come with now a days. You better be in good shape if your buddies all have carbon bikes😂
Nice man! Always enjoy your vids. They keep me motivated to ride the bike in Colombia!
Epic trip!
Hey! I’m in Fort Collins. Can you show me where that road is please? Thanks!
Look up Longdraw rd
Beautiful shots and congrats on your effort. You could have made it easier on yourself by not putting so many bags on your bike and lighten it by couple of pounds.
Bikefishing FTW!
Cliff bars and Satie, this man clearly has taste.
You really should give a physics lecture on close loop time versus linear time because you were so monochrome it put me to sleep but, thank you for your video. I found it somewhat informative.
How are you liking the jones bar...is it the 2.5cm rise or the flat one?
It has a rise! Have had them for years ! Always nice to switch up the setups!
Got new pannier bags. Bike feels heavy and I didn't realise how much the weight of my backpack contributed to the downward force on the pedal assisting me when taking off.
Yo Josh, what’s sandals are you wearing at 0:48? I am need of a new pair, and researching what brand and model to get. I like yours!
@@LucasH567 hi Lucas ! They are bedrocks. They sent me some for a review but I’ve been a long time fan since 2017 I use the 3d pros but you can choose different stack on them I used to own the cairns but they were a little to minimal for what I like to do in sandals ! Cheers !
I don’t think that helmet is dot certified
Mip
Not sure if you'll see this, but just curious how this set up held up over time. Considering doing the same setup on my gravel bike. Thanks!
i live in co springs too m8
Hey what bars are those? Sick ride, btw.
it's meaning if I use this watch for cycling navigation the battery die before my normal 8 to 10 hours workout? I know this watch it's not design and built for cycling navigation...but I expect more from Garmin,. one more time I need think before buy.😅
@@the-portuguese-guy no it won’t die on a 8-10 hour workout… I get about 110 hours of gps tracking
@@JoshRomeroYT but one thing is gps tracking, and another is gps tracking with map always on ...I Wana buy this baby...but I never see a video anyone show if is possible use this Garmin smartwatch like a dedicate Edge cycling computer. Have also another think I have concern...what is the battery lifespan ? 1 year, 2 years, 3 years...and Garmin replace the battery of this watch? or after 3 years I need put the watch on the bin ? So valid questions for me, and I cannot find this answers on RUclips.
I still love my LV reverse monogram hidupz clutch! It's versatile, fits a variety of items, and is definitely a workhorse! I think seeing it everywhere (like the LV speedy) is proof that it's
Good assessment. I was lucky, my nephew worked at the patent office and revealed the "Xtracyle" to me 20 years ago! Intrigued, I purchased one and put it on an old Gary Fisher mountain bike! Wow, I could haul many things! First I used child sests, then the "magic carpet" and "hooptie" to ride the grand children around. Many great memories were made on that bike! In my mid 60's now, living in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains, I think of getting an electric conversion. One could do that at anytime without much price difference compared to the "factory built" electric option. As one commentor stated, frame installed electric motors might prove to be a liability rather than an asset in the long term. That's just my "two cents".
Where's your pistol? Don't leave the house without your pistol.
A ride buddy of mine has one of these. It looks and feels solid and the manufacturing is high quality. It makes every other pump I've picked up feel like a toy. Apart from the cost - I could buy 4 or 5 other pumps for this price - the only downside I can see is the weight. Its a chunky monkey. But, I reckon it'll last a good long while.
You’re 100%correct, technology does not age well. Another reason is that e-bikes are about to become the new recipients of registration and insurance regulations, just wait for it and some combinations just aren’t going to be allowed. They’ll be grandfathered in, but it will still be there and you’ll have to deal with it. The best thing I ever heard is if you don’t use it, you lose it. It applies to me because I had a stroke and was considering a recumbent bike and was told keeping your balance on a regular bike that you would lose on a recumbent bike and the exercise you get with an ebike is marginal at best.
Sadly it looks like Garmin will switch completely to amoled. Polar and Suunto have done the same with their top models. I guess they all want me to save money in the future. Now 2 years after epix was released mote and more people mention display burn in if they had the watch always on. Its unusable on a bike with dimming after seconds!! I do wonder if we will loose the mip displays completely. Even dcrainmaker campaigns for amoled like a braindead. It will ruin the sports watches market for me.
Why are you whispering 😂
Welcome to the dark side. 😉
I have a gravel bike with huge backpack on it(the biggest I could found), which is technically is my cargo bike as well 😂. It is more than enough to carry most of the things and in worst case I can just add another backup on it. I don't have kids, so serves it porpoise well
If u turn down the brightness on 5% which is bright enough if u want to look at it in the dark, then it lasts 20 days (+touchscreen off)
Whats happened to the Ombraz? Not feeling them anymore? Honest opinions appreciated!
Hi Monty! No I still wear them. I actually just got back from a 3 day bikepacking trip with some fishing involved and the ombraz were perfect. I just switch it up to keep things fresh when I want a change.
@@JoshRomeroYT Ok, thanks, that helps
bike messenger bag
It’s a sick bike. I bought a Kona Unit last year. So glad speed rigid. I absolutely love it!!! But, much like the KM. If I want forks and gears I can. If I wanna go bikepacking one day I can. Such a versatile machine.
Okay. I will buy the 2022 Kona Rove AL 650. Thanks for helping me decide
Massive fan of my rigid eggplant monkey with 3.0 dirt wizards. Grew up on BMX, and my theory is that my old muscle memory plays a big role in why I have more fun on the monkey than anything else for 95% of mtb things. It's like a big kid MTB-BMX fantasy. Other than a couple small bits like grips, the only thing I changed from the start was adding a dropper, like you. Not sure that I ever intend to throw on a squishy fork, but this bike with a dropper is crazy capable and comfortable. It made me a huge fan of plus tires too, and I pretty quickly swapped in a wider set on my full suspension. I suppose this goes for surly in general, but one of my favorite things is the adaptability. Planning to pick up a second gravel-ish wheelset that I can easily swap in and transform the bike in 30 seconds.
I suggest instead of doing that just finding a deal on a cheap gravel bike at the end of the season no matter what wheels you put on a surly it’s still gonna weigh a ton compared to any gravel bike
What size is your wrist?
Can you help me please with the sounds I don’t know how increase the volume of it
Yo MR REMEMBER me Christopher in 5th grade
I miss my Pebble
Got my Fenix 7 Pro Solar in December as a from me, to me Christmas prezzy... Love it!
I had some difficulties enjoying shorter runs as I became a dad recently but I now try to look at it the same way as you do. They also have a lot of value and are worth enjoying to the fullest. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely! It’s all just a perspective change ! Cheers !
how does your perspective holds up today? I’m in a point of getting a cargo bike, and mechanical version is quite tempting.
Tactix Amoled is way better.
126$ for shorts? Yeah...
Really nice, well thought-out system.
Glad to see the knee is feeling better, JRP! My knees can’t hang with running. I do miss it but they’re too stretched out now. Take care and I’ll keep an eye out for a rad pink hat for you. 😅
Hahaha please do!
